"The sculptural work Good girls don’t bark is a response to those living within the West Tamar Valley, who recognise, acknowledge and embrace the potential of their region, their local communities, the surrounding landscape and importantly the individuals.

The construction of the sculpture was inspired by topiary frames; welded forms traditionally created to support growing plants and more popularly referred to as frames for ‘living sculptures’. Bare topiary frames represent the potential of the plant’s growth and the aesthetic vision of a patient gardener.

Similar to topiarists, the people living within regional communities can be admired for strong, sensitive commitment to their long-term future plans whilst not forgetting the importance of tradition and local history. Good girls don’t bark encourages viewers to contemplate potential: identify, nurture and support."
